Fall Mazes Printable: Thanksgiving and Holiday Mazes
Mazes shaped like a fall leaf, a pumpkin, a turkey and other seasonal pictures. Pick a shape and print.
How to use the Holiday Mazes
- Open the page. It shows a fall leaf maze at Easy difficulty, with 1 maze per page.
- Pick a shape with the shape buttons next to the preview. For Thanksgiving, choose pumpkin or turkey. For other holidays, open ‘More shapes’ on the Design tab.
- Choose a difficulty: Very easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, Very hard or Expert. For young children, turn on Kid-friendly (thicker walls, wider paths) under More options on the Design tab.
- Change the Title field if you want a different name. By default, the title is the shape name followed by ‘Maze’, such as ‘Pumpkin Maze’.
- Click ‘New maze’ to get a different maze with the same settings.
- Click ‘Show solution’ to draw the route from Start to Finish in red. Use this to check your answer before you print.
- On the Print tab, set ‘Mazes per page’, ‘Number of pages’ and ‘Paper size’. Tick ‘Add answer pages’ if you want the solutions at the end. For a worksheet, choose the Worksheet layout, which adds a name and date line.
- Click ‘Print / Save as PDF’. Check the preview of page 1 first. In the browser print dialog, choose ‘Save as PDF’ as the destination if you want a file.
To keep a maze for later, click ‘Copy link’. It shares the exact maze or set. ‘Download SVG’ and ‘Download PNG’ save the preview as an image. Use SVG when you need a sharp picture at any size, such as for a poster.
Which fall and Thanksgiving shapes are there?
The fall and Thanksgiving shapes on this page are the fall leaf, the pumpkin and the turkey. The turkey is the Thanksgiving shape, and the leaf and pumpkin suit fall displays and autumn activities.
Each shape is an outline, and the maze fills the inside of it. The Start and Finish are placed on the outline at the two points that are farthest apart along the maze’s paths. This means the route usually crosses most of the picture.
Are there Thanksgiving mazes for kindergarten?
Yes. Use the turkey at Very easy or Easy, and turn on Kid-friendly. Kid-friendly uses about 20 % fewer cells for the same difficulty and has thicker walls, so a child can draw the route with a crayon.
On average, a Very easy turkey has a route of about 56 cells, and an Easy turkey has about 122 cells. These are averages from 20 mazes made on the site’s generator, so a single maze can be a little shorter or longer.
Which other holidays are covered?
The page covers Valentine’s Day with a heart, Easter with an egg and a bunny, and St. Patrick’s Day with a shamrock. The Easter egg and bunny also work as spring mazes, and the heart suits a Valentine’s card or a class party in February.
Christmas and Halloween shapes have their own pages on the site. Animal, basic shape and other holiday shapes are under ‘More shapes’ on the Design tab.
How does difficulty change the maze?
Difficulty sets the detail, measured in cells across the picture. Very easy uses 16 cells, Easy 24, Medium 32, Hard 44, Very hard 56 and Expert 70.
More cells make a longer route, more dead ends and a smoother outline. On average, a Hard leaf maze has a route of about 480 cells and 128 dead ends, compared with about 136 cells on Easy.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. The tool is free, requires no sign-up, and runs in your web browser. You do not need to install anything.
Can I print the answers?
Yes. Tick ‘Add answer pages’ on the Print tab. The answer pages come after the maze pages and show the solution in red. Check the preview of the answer page before you print.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in the web browser with nothing to install, and the layout fits small screens. The print step uses the browser’s print dialog, so check the preview and the ‘Save as PDF’ option on the device you plan to print from.
How do I get the same maze again?
Each maze is built from a seed. The same seed and settings always give the same maze, so click ‘Copy link’ to save or share the exact maze. A reprint from that link is identical.
Can I print a different maze for every child?
Yes. Each maze in a printed set gets its own seed, so 4 mazes per page and 5 pages give 20 different mazes, numbered to match the answer pages. Switch the shape between print runs for a mix of leaves, pumpkins and turkeys.
