Free printable mazes and maze generator

Maze Game Online

Guide the dot to the goal with the arrow keys, a swipe or by dragging. 28 levels plus free play.

Maze Game is a free online maze puzzle that runs in your browser. You guide an orange dot from the entrance to the green goal, and there is nothing to download or install. No sign-up is needed, and nothing you do on the page is uploaded.

The game has two modes. Levels has 28 mazes that get bigger as you go, starting with a 6 x 6 maze and ending at 60 x 60. Free play lets you pick a square or circle maze and a size from Tiny to Giant. Use it to play a new maze each time, or to try a dark maze for a bigger challenge.

If you want to play a maze online without a long setup, you can start on level 1 right away. Each level takes only a few moves at first, so it works well as a quick puzzle break.

How to use the Maze Game

  1. Open the page and choose Levels to start at level 1, or Free play to build your own maze.
  2. Find the orange dot at the entrance. Your goal is the green dot.
  3. Move the dot with the arrow keys or WASD. Hold a key to keep moving.
  4. On a phone or touch screen, swipe on the board, tap the direction buttons below it, or press near the dot and drag along the corridors. The dot follows open passages and never goes through a wall.
  5. Keep going until the dot reaches the green goal. The timer starts on your first move.
  6. Read the finish screen, which shows your time, your number of moves, and your best time.

Use Previous level and Next level to move between Levels. In Free play, pick a Maze shape and a Size, then press New maze for a new layout. Show trail draws where you have been, and Show solution draws the route from where you are. If you use Show solution, that run does not count as a best time. Restart begins the current maze again. Copy link to this maze gives you a link to the exact maze in Free play, so a friend can race you on the same one.

How do you solve a maze game?

A maze is a grid of cells, and walls separate some neighbouring cells from each other. In most mazes there is only one route from the entrance to the goal, and the rest of the passages lead to dead ends. Solving a maze means finding that route and avoiding the dead ends.

A simple method for square mazes is the wall-follower rule. Put one hand on a wall and keep it there as you walk. The mazes in this game have no loops and their entrance is on the outer wall, so this always reaches the goal. It can take much longer than the direct route. The Show solution option does the planning for you, while the Show trail option lets you see where you have already been so you do not walk the same dead end twice.

Circle mazes use the same idea, but the layout is made of rings. You start in the centre and need to reach the goal on the outer ring. Left and right move you around the ring, while up moves you outward and down moves you inward. The gaps between rings are the real choices, so look ahead for the gaps that lead outward.

Is there a scary or dark maze mode?

Yes. Turn on Fog (dark maze), in Levels or Free play, and the board only shows the cells around you. The rest of the maze stays hidden, so you have to remember where you have been and what you have already passed. The effect is tense, but it works through limited vision, not surprises: there are no jump scares.

Fog is a good way to test your memory of a maze. It also makes the solving steps harder, because you cannot see a whole route at once. If you find it too hard, turn off Fog and try the same size maze with the full board visible.

Frequently asked questions

Is the maze game online free?

Yes. The game is free and runs in your browser. You do not need to create an account or download anything.

Does the game save my progress?

Yes. Your progress and best times are saved in your browser. Levels are the same maze for everyone, so your progress carries over when you return to the same browser.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Swipe on the board, tap the on-screen direction buttons below it, or press near the dot and drag along the corridors.

What is the hardest level in the maze game?

Level 28 is the largest, at 60 x 60 cells. The levels grow by two cells each time, so the mazes get bigger as you move through the list.

Is there a maze game for kids?

Level 1 is a 6 x 6 maze, so younger players can start with the smallest levels and move up as they go. The controls are simple: arrow keys, swipes, or drag.

Can I share a maze with a friend?

Yes, in Free play. Use Copy link to this maze to share the exact maze, so a friend can race you on the same layout.

Can I play a circle maze?

Yes. In Free play set Maze shape to Circle maze. You start in the centre; left and right move around the ring, up moves outward and down moves inward.
