Space Maze Printables
Mazes shaped like a rocket, a planet, a UFO and more. Pick a shape and a level, then print.
Space maze is a free, printable maze tool that draws each puzzle in the shape of a space picture: a rocket, planet, UFO, moon, astronaut, star or comet. It runs in your web browser, with no sign-up and nothing to install, and each puzzle is made on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
The page opens on a rocket maze, which is a good starting point for a space maze printable or a spaceship maze for a classroom, party or quiet afternoon. Choose another shape, set the difficulty, then print the sheet or save it as a PDF. Every shape uses the outline of its picture as the outer wall, so the route winds through a rocket or planet instead of a square. You can also use the same tool to make a planet maze or a space labyrinth, depending on which shape you pick.
How to use the space maze tool
- Open the page. It shows a rocket maze on Easy, with one maze per page.
- Pick a shape with the shape buttons next to the settings. For animals, holidays or basic shapes, open More shapes on the Design tab.
- Choose a difficulty: Very easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, Very hard or Expert.
- Change the Title if you want. The default is the shape name followed by “Maze”, such as “Rocket Maze”.
- Open the Print tab and set Mazes per page, Number of pages, Paper size (US Letter or A4), and any extras such as Show title, Number the mazes, Start and Finish labels and Page layout.
- Select Worksheet if you want a name and date line with the instruction “Find the way from Start to Finish.”
- Press Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF as the destination if you want a file.
To get a different puzzle with the same settings, press New maze. To share the exact sheet, press Copy link. A reprint from that link is identical, maze for maze. Show solution draws the route in red, and Download SVG or Download PNG saves the maze as an image.
Which space shapes are there?
There are seven space shapes on this page: rocket, planet, UFO, moon, astronaut, star and comet. The planet is a ball with a ring, like Saturn, and the moon is a crescent. The rocket has a round window cut out of the maze, so that part is solid and the route goes around it.
Is there a space maze game?
This page makes printable mazes, not a game you play on a screen. The site’s online maze game is a separate page, linked in the related tools below. For a vehicle you can steer on screen, the car maze game lets a child drive a little car along maze roads to a finish flag.
How does difficulty change a space maze?
Difficulty sets how many cells fit across the picture: Very easy uses 16, Easy 24, Medium 32, Hard 44, Very hard 56 and Expert 70. More cells make a longer route, more dead ends and a smoother outline. On a Very easy or Easy maze, a few extra passages open up, so there is more than one way through. Measured averages from the generator show how much this changes a rocket maze: about 79 cells on Very easy, about 163 cells with 53 dead ends on Easy, and about 590 cells on Hard. Planet and UFO mazes are wide and low, so their Easy routes are shorter, at about 80 cells.
Ideas: space-themed lesson, birthday party and rainy-day activity
For a space-themed lesson, use the Worksheet layout with Number the mazes on, and print one shape per child so each sheet has its own name line. For a birthday party, print a few mazes per page in different shapes and let guests race to the Finish. For a rainy-day activity, choose a Hard or Very hard setting for older children, or Very easy for younger ones, and print several pages with answer pages added for a grown-up to check.
Frequently asked questions
Is space maze free?
Yes. It runs in the browser for free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. Each puzzle is made on your device, and nothing is uploaded.
Can I print the answers?
Yes. Open the Print tab and turn on Add answer pages; they print after the maze pages. The answers come after the maze pages and show the solution in red.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The page fits a phone screen: the settings stack above the preview, the preview scales to the screen width and the buttons are large enough to tap. To print from a phone or tablet, tap Print / Save as PDF and use the device’s print or share menu.
Can young children use these mazes?
Yes. Turn on Kid-friendly (thicker walls, wider paths) under More options on the Design tab. It uses about 20 % fewer cells for the same difficulty and thicker walls, so young children can draw the route with a crayon.
Can I print several space shapes on one page?
Each sheet uses the selected shape, with 1, 2, 4 or 6 mazes per page. For a mixed set, print the rocket, then pick the planet or UFO and print again.
